It started with a simple instagram post that said ‘#YeezyBoost coming soon’ and the buzz started rolling, leading up to the release day last June 27. Finally, we were getting a piece of the Yeezy pie. Sneaker lifestyle boutique Sole Academy, together with Adidas PH, opened the experience with an Instagram lottery, where a number of lucky fans were chosen to attend the main raffle on release day. Last June 27 was Yeezy day and Sole Academy BGC was transformed into an all-adidas and Yeezy pop-up store, with everything and everyone representing the three stripes. A countdown timer was also setup outside the store a few days back, up until the official release at 6pm. Hundreds of participants waited patiently, with some already present hours early, for their chance at the highly anticipated sneaker. At 6pm, Suzy of Magic 89.9 and Sole Academy’s Carlo Trillo officially opened up the raffle. Yeezy time! Names and numbers were called and Yeezy fans finally got to do their ‘Walk of Fame’ and go home with their own pair. With only a limited number of pairs available, there was both happiness and disappointment, and even some tears from those who were not lucky enough to be called or ran out of sizes. All in all it was a successful event led by Sole Academy and Adidas PH. The Yeezy Boost 350 has landed. Till the next Yeezy release maybe?
